The arts of tongue and pulse diagnosis were at the forefront of every medical tradition – from the ancient Greek to the Chinese, Indian and Arabian traditions. They are just as valuable tools now as ever and so at some point in the consultation I will feel your pulse and ask you to poke your tongue out.

Together, we will look at creating a treatment plan holistically, while keeping in mind your constitution and the cycle of healing. This may include making a dietary change, adding something into your daily routine, or taking something out that could potentially be causing a blockage in the cycle of healing and therefore a health issue. Healing is not an event but rather it is a journey, and I am here to act as a guide to support and empower you on this journey.

I firmly believe the body knows the true path of healing and we just need to support it or get out of its way. To help support the body do its thing, we will turn to nature’s own treasure chest in the form of prescription herbal medicines.

Historically, most herbal medicines were given in the form of teas or decoctions, where the herbs are steeped or simmered in water and Infusions and decoctions are still very effective methods to deliver medicinal doses. Most modern herbalists will also use doses of concentrated tinctures and extracts in liquid form and/or concentrated herbal powders in capsule form. These methods of delivery give precision dosing and can provide a significantly greater ease of use to the person who needs to take herbs over any length of time.

As part of your holistic treatment plan, I will custom make a formula just for you to help with your individual needs. Wherever possible I obtain raw, organic and premium quality herbs that I then process into extracts, capsules etc. This means that I can be 100% certain of the quality of the medicines.
